Schengen Business Visa from Pakistan: Documents
A Schengen short-stay visa for business lets you travel to Europe for meetings, trade fairs, conferences and similar business activities, for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. It does not allow you to work for a European employer. Requirements follow the Schengen rules but each consulate publishes its own checklist, so confirm with the country you are applying through.
Which country do I apply through?
Apply through the country that is your main destination for the business purpose, or where you will spend the most days. If you attend a fair in Germany and then meet clients in Italy, think about where most of your time and meetings will be.
Core documents
A valid passport with enough remaining validity and blank pages. The completed application form and recent photographs. Travel medical insurance covering the whole stay with at least 30,000 euros of cover. A clear itinerary with accommodation and travel plans. An invitation letter from the host company or the event organiser, with dates and purpose.
Your own business or employer documents
If you own a business, prepare your registration documents, NTN and tax records, a company letter describing the purpose of the trip, and company bank statements that show real activity. If you are an employee, prepare a letter from your employer confirming your position, the purpose of the trip, the dates and that you will return to your job.
Personal financial evidence
Recent personal bank statements that match your income and the trip cost. Large unexplained deposits shortly before applying raise questions, so keep records that explain any large transaction.
Timing
Under the EU Visa Code a decision should normally come within 15 calendar days of an admissible application, extendable in some cases. Appointment waiting times are separate and vary. Applications are generally accepted up to six months before travel. Start early, especially around trade-fair season.
Why business applications are refused
A purpose that is unclear or not business-related, an invitation that cannot be verified, company accounts that do not show real activity, or inconsistent dates between documents. A refusal does not permanently bar you, but you should address the reasons before you reapply.
Ali Baba Travel Advisor prepares Schengen business visa files and checks the documents for consistency. The consulate makes the decision and approval is never guaranteed.
